My name is Alex Drummond, I’m a first-time filmmaker and longtime waiter. I’ve written and directed an ultra low-budget horror-comedy feature called
THE SHOWER KILLER PARTY. It’s about a group of friends who get trapped at a baby shower when a mysterious outbreak starts turning people into homicidal maniacs.
I’m originally from New Jersey and I moved to Los Angeles in 2001 to pursue my dream of screenwriting and filmmaking. I’ve written a lot of bad scripts and I’ve served a lot of good cheeseburgers. During that time, I’ve become a much better waiter, and it’s possible that my writing has improved as well.
The Shower Killer Party with my wife, Rachael, and our friends Andy Hoff, Stephanie Tobey, Drew Benda, Mike Kuciak and Suzanne Sena. Many of us worked together at a restaurant called Gulfstream in Century City (not Mike and Suzanne). We decided to make a feature so that we could showcase our talents and stop waiting to be chosen. Yes, the waiters were tired of waiting.
We had our world premiere at Shriekfest Film Festival in Los Angeles. We also played at Another Hole in the Head Film Festival in San Francisco, Nevermore Film Festival in Durham, NC, The International Horror & Sci-Fi Festival in Phoenix, Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival, Motor City Nightmares, Fright Night Film Festival in Louisville, The Los Angeles Fear & Fantasy Film Festival, New Orleans Horror Film Festival, Sunscreen Film Festival West, Spooky Movie International Film Festival, Eerie Horror Film Festival and Macabre Faire Film Festival.
My goal with this blog is to chronicle the journey of
The Shower Killer Party and to share the story of how a waiter from New Jersey made an independent movie with his wife and friends. (And to provide the information necessary for my children to know why their father went insane during their early years.)
All the best,
